Saint Kitts and Nevis is a country which is comprised on two islands, the larger Saint Kitts and the smaller Nevis, and is located in the West Indies. The capital city is Basseterre which is situated on St Kitts. The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is one of the smallest countries in the world. The smaller Nevis Island is 3 kilometers southeast of Saint Kitts and each island is separated by “The Narrows” channel.
Temperatures range from approximately 23C to 31C throughout the year. The United Nations estimates that the population is 55,345 in 2017. English is the official language.
St. Kitts and Nevis is the smallest sovereign state of the whole Western Hemisphere. There are 55.628 people living on 261 km2. The state is located in the West Indies.
There are two main islands: Saint Kitts is the larger one and Nevis is located around 3 km southeast of Saint Kitts. The biggest city is the capital Basseterre on Saint Kitts. The islands have a volcanic origin, but there is also the tropical rainforest, a lake and a lot of rivers.
